Youths on bikes and scooters
I have been advised by members of the public that 3 youths on bikes have been riding around Bakewell in an evening, dressed in dark clothing, no lights and weaving in and out of cars at the roadworks. One was nearly hit by a car.
If your kids are out on their bikes after 1700 it is now rather dark. If they haven't got lights on their bike, they need them, along with light coloured / fluorescent clothing if possible. If a driver can't see you, they can't avoid you!!
Scooter riders, please follow the same advice, if you are on the road you will need to have lights in order that you can be seen. If you are on the pavement, keep your speed down to avoid pedestrians they too might be difficult to see in the dark.
Thanks for your help,
Hayley
